The government has announced an investment of £3bn to rebuild and reequip hospitals.

According to the HSJ, the first phase of capital funding over five years will see six NHS trusts receive money to replace old buildings and update infrastructure, and a second phase will support the financing of 34 building projects at hospitals across the NHS.

The government has said the investment is part of a new Health Infrastructure Plan which also aims to modernise the primary care estate, improve mental health facilities, invest in new diagnostics and technology and help eradicate critical safety issues in the NHS estate.

WFL is proud to collaborate with the Whittington Health Trust and has worked in partnership with the hospital since 2002 to oversee the building and maintenance of facilities first funded under the government’s previous major hospital building programme.
